History

Originally formed in 1988 as Elim Christian Centre FC, the club now has a proud history stretching back 30 years in the local community. In 1990 the club changed its name to United Christian Centre FC, to reflect the fact that players were becoming involved from other churches in the area, and in 2003 the club finally (for now) changed its name to once more better reflect its nature, as it became United Chelmsford Churches FC.

In recent history, 2015 saw the Reserve team reach the Division 6 Cup Final, narrowly losing 2-1 to Exiles FC.

In 2016 the First team went one better, capping a fine season by beating Mayland Village 1-0 in the Division 2 Cup Final.

Most recently, 2018 saw the Reserve team rewarded for years of hard work as a stellar season culminated in them winning both Division 4 and the Patrons Plate Trophy.

UCC is first and foremost a Christian Club, with Christian management and Christian values. All of our teams proudly wear the club shirt with the Christian statement of faith ‘Jesus Christ is LORD’.

We do have many non-Christian players, who represent the club in accordance with the club code of conduct, and we always welcome new players who wish to join.
